Romesh Paul, Director of Asia, in charge of the TDM Trade Statistics Transformation Service, client support and data sourcing throughout Asia, is an internationally recognized expert in trade statistics. He has 33 years’ experience compiling and quality-assuring trade data for national statistical institutions, international organizations and government ministries in many countries, including 15 years at Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and 5 years at the European Commission’s Eurostat office in Luxembourg.
Since 2007, he has been leading teams of international experts in the implementation of statistical capacity-building programs, providing technical assistance to strengthen statistical production and dissemination capabilities.
At TDM, Romesh is responsible for the Trade Statistics Data Transformation Services, which provide methodological and technical assistance to producers and users of trade statistics. In addition, he supports trade data acquisition and marketing.
Romesh has full command of spoken and written English and Sinhalese, and some working proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia, Tamil and French.
