Julian Price is an independent sugar trade analyst who brings ideas, expertise and market insights to his clients. Julian graduated in Agricultural Economics at the University of Aberdeen and holds a post-graduate diploma in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde. After university, he joined ED&F Man in London in 1987 as a market analyst before moving to the trading desk in 1994 as a broker of ACP sugar to the EU and became Head of EU Raw Sugar Trading in 2012. In 2018, Julian founded his consulting firm julianprice.com Ltd., and in 2023 he became Executive Director of the ACP/LDC Sugarcane Industries Group, an organization representing 18 sugar industries in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) and Least Developed Countries (LDC) who have tariff free access to EU and UK markets. Julian has served as Chairman of the Sugar Traders’ Association of the UK (1998 to 2002) and as President of ASSUC, the European Association of Sugar Traders (2010 to 2018).
